OBSERVATIONS GREENCARD |
(Chemical Observations) |
| DATABASE DESCRIPTION : | |
| OBSERVATIONS contains summary data and/or bibliographic references concerning the environmental fate and the chemical-physical properties of chemicals released into the environment. The records generally include chemical identification information (chemical name, CAS Registry Number, formula) and bibliographic reference information to the original sources. Some 32,000 records dealing with more than 6,400 unique chemical substances contain actual data under one of 24 subject headings (e.g., boiling point, microbial degradation). Some 323,000 records dealing with more than 15,500 unique chemical substances contain only bibliographic references under one of 18 subject headings. Not all properties are covered for all substances. The data-bearing portion of the database is being updated, and some bibliographic-reference-only records are converted to data-inclusive records in each update. | |
