(1969-present) Compiled by the Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale, RILM Abstracts of Music Literature (1969-present) is the world's largest, continuously updated bibliography of music literature providing broad international coverage including records in over 100 languages from 3,700 journals. Over 269,100 abstracts, written and edited by an international staff of music professionals, are drawn from articles, bibliographies, catalogues, journals, conference proceedings, books, dissertations, festchriften, iconographies, critical commentaries to complete works, ethnographic recordings and videos, reviews and more. 


RILM thesaurus
NISC provides very powerful automated searching using the RILM thesaurus, a complete list of over 2,500 official index terms. The thesaurus can be displayed in various ways and is easily navigated. The explode command lets you search narrower terms and even include related terms. Using a thesaurus to construct precise, powerful keyword searches has never been simpler.

(1960-present) The Library of Congress MUSIC CATALOG provides access to over 354,000 annotated bibliographic records -- unpublished, in-print or microfiche -- plus the fully cataloged contributions of other major libraries selected by the Library of Congress and the Music Library Association.

The Library of Congress MUSIC CATALOG encompasses the printed editions of Music, Books on Music, and Sound Recordings and more. Coverage includes music-related disciplines, such as dance, linguistics, religion, and archaeology.

All musical media are covered, including musical scores, monographs, books, serials, audiovisual materials on music, sound recordings (LPs, CDs, tapes, 78's, etc.), and the Library's prized collection of non-music recordings.
