Natural Resources Information Center, CIREN, a state technological institute of CORFO (Corporation to Promote Development) has more than 40 years of experience in the compilation, generation and handling of information related to the natural resources of Chile. This unique database provides integrated basic information on climate, irrigation, water, soil, land capability, land use, geology, and geomorphology among many others. You can also find information regarding rural property boundaries, fruit crops, and forest plantation productions of Chile. CIREN´s database provides necessary information to support public and private sectors to help decision making in the processes of pre-investment related to the use of natural resources. Subject coverage includes rural real state, climate, water information, environmental management, natural resources-use, conservation of resources. For document delivery: cedoc@ciren.cl FORES DATABASE: From INFOR, FOREST INSTITUTE INFOR is the Chilean Forest State Agency that supports public and private institutions of the forest area providing information and technologies to properly assign and use the forest resources, and to contribute to the economic and social development of Chile. In terms of information, FORES provides and disseminates this public asset that is essential for the operation of markets and corrects decision making of private and public economic agents. This database helps to research and coordinate the capacities available in the country. It also provides supplementary information where it is needed. In technology transfer, INFOR ´s database includes the design of promotion programs, to achieve the best performance in forestry. Subject coverage includes forestry, agro-forestry, forest products, forest statistics, sustainable development, wood and wood construction, pulp and paper literature. For document delivery: sif@infor.cl or info@infor.cl INTEC: TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH CORPORATION DATABASE The Corporation of Technological Research-Intec is a non-profit corporation under Private Law with a public mandate to increase competitiveness of Chilean productive sectors, promoting and diffusing the technological change through transference of high impact developments. Many documents that are in the different archives of this database are national and foreign publications, only the Projects File has the information generated exclusively in Chile. Documents include: books, documents (separatas), projects, standards, patents for the development of the projects. Subject coverage includes cleaner production results of chemical metrology, environmental information technologies, electronicsdeveloping instruments to produce new products. It also includes information technologies, extractive metallurgic, agro-industry, non-wooden forestry products, business incubator, technological parks and technological business. CHILEAN NORMS The Instituto Nacional de Normalización (INN) is a private foundation who is in charge of the development of technical standards at national level and manages the National Accreditation System which includes accreditation of certification bodies for quality systems, quality systems auditors, certification bodies for products and testing laboratories. Furthermore, INN is the coordination unit of a metrological network and promotes standardization, quality management and related activities. INN is the Chilean representative in international standardization. Its mission is to promote and support the improvements and competitiveness of small and very small businesses and to strengthen the development of the competitive abilities of their entrepreneurs. Sercotec technical database focuses on delivering specialized information for which there is a predictable demand to small-scale size enterprises, entrepreneurs, consultants and governmental officers. The library has widespread bibliographic material covering all different economic activities.
