Product Overview

The Fish and Wildlife Information Exchange (FWIE) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University serves as an information clearinghouse for state fish and wildlife agencies in North America. FWIE archives the species information systems and related databases developed by fish and wildlife agencies and promotes interagency data sharing. Now these important databases are available on BiblioLine! No environmental planner, researcher, or educator should be without this comprehensive resource for state, federal, and private fish and wildlife organizations.
Database Content

7,200 species
Each database profiles nearly 1,000 North American faunal species in detail. Each vertebrate or selected invertebrate species or subspecies has its own profile (usually about seven pages). Information is drawn from published and grey literature, field studies, compiled internal reports, and work with other agencies.
